Modern garden – simplicity of composition, high-end materials

A modern garden primarily emphasizes minimalism, which is also true of the house's exterior and interior. Through the introduction of strong geometric forms, it is defined by order, beauty, and harmony. The rectangle, square, circle, and triangle, as well as current ornamental forms, are immediately visible in the finished garden design.

Concrete, plastic, and glass are often the main materials in a modern garden. Wood and stone were added to add a touch of nature and soften the other modern materials. Natural materials, on the other hand, are secondary – they are not intended to mimic nature.
Straight lines of walks, retaining walls, flower pots, and clipped hedges are distinguishing features of the project. There are also leisure terraces, gravel areas with contemporary pots, and sculptures made of concrete, glass, and metal.

Garden furniture and small architecture

Selected outdoor furniture has a modern, fashionable, but largely practical appearance. Metal, aluminum, wood, glass, technorattan, and bare concrete are the dominant materials. The materials used are expected to be strong and of exceptional quality, able to survive the effects of external conditions for many years. Upholstered furniture is also coated with Teflon-impregnated high-quality polyester. This process makes the cloth resistant to dirt and stains from ice cream, ketchup, or juice that can be easily removed. Plastics must be able to withstand UV light, high and low temperatures, and water. It is critical that the furniture can remain outside during the winter season, even if it is coated in a heavy layer of snow.

Detail is an important aspect of a modern garden. Because of the geometric nature, every detail and material quality must be of the highest quality.

Water accents are also essential in the modern garden. Next to the wooden terrace is a recreational swimming pool, which is surrounded by a relaxation area. A waterfall was constructed to complement the existing concrete wall in the garden's back corner. The form chosen is visible from most regions of the garden and serves as a focal point.

 

Plants in the modern garden

The main goal of the garden was to create a leisure place with practical walks, large terraces, and a swimming pool. As a result, in the garden are plants that can be planted in plots, mostly perennials, evergreen shrubs, and grasses. The modern garden excludes flower beds, which need more maintenance. In the design, we will not encounter randomness or romantic chaos. Each plant has its own place.

Plants used in the design: perennials – Allium giganteum, Equisetum hyemale, Lavandula angustifolia, trawy – Miscanthus sinensis, Pennisetum alopecuroides, Stipa tenuissima `Pony Tails` , shrubs – Prunus laurocerasus `Etna`, Taxus x media `Erecta`, Berberis thunbergii `Helmond Pillar`, Juniperus communis `Repanda`, trees – Acer palmatum, Betula utilis `Doorenbos`, Ginkgo biloba, formowane Carpinus betulus.
There is also a modern accent – formed bamboo Phyllostachys bissetii planted against a white wall.
